As part of our “How To” series, this page will discuss how to deal with joystick configuration issues when using your own games with TheC64Mini.
How do I use “Joystick Port 1” – as many games such as Ghostbusters requires a controller in Port 1?
- It cannot be currently selected in the interface.
- Rename your disk image file to include “_J1” at the end. For example, “Ghostbusters.d64” should be renamed to “Ghostbusters_J1.d64”.
- Get a “hacked” copy of the game that switches the ports (find some of these here)
- Use a configuration “CJM” file to specify that Joystick 1 should be used (use our tool to create your .cjm files)
